Rocky shores are transitional ecosystems between land and marine environments, where organisms frequently face stressful conditions such as desiccation and wave exposure. This study is part of the Long-term Ecological Research Program in Guanabara Bay (PELD - Guanabara) and aims to understand how environmental factors influence the benthic community, as biotic responses require time to reach detectable levels. The main objective is to relate the abundance of mid intertidal species—Chthamalus bisinuatus, Tetraclita stalactifera, Mytilaster solisianus, Crassostrea rhizophorae, Ulva spp., and the invasive species Isognomon bicolor and Saccostrea cucullata—to environmental factors on two rocky shores in Guanabara Bay. ( Praia Vermelha, and Boa Viagem, We also assess the temporal scale that best explains these variations. Monitoring happened during all seasons from 2013 to 2023, but environmental data were available only until 2021. Sampling was non-destructive, using photographic methods, and abundance estimation was performed with CPCe software. Statistical analyses included ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and Generalized Linear Models. The results indicate that annual fluctuations had a more significant impact on species abundance than seasonal changes, with temperature and precipitation being the environmental factors that most influenced the species. This research enhances our understanding of rocky shore ecosystem dynamics and offers insights into the potential impacts of climate change on these communities
