• Abstract

    A novel purification procedure for Acipenser baerii baerii (Brandt, 1869) serum IgM suitable for rabbit antisera production to be use as secondary antibody in ELISA.: A novel purification procedure for A. baerii serum IgM.

    Acipenser baerii serum IgM was purified combining precipitation and chromatography steps, to produce anti-species antibodies. The purification procedure described herein is simple and easy to perform and the quality of the preparation obtained showed to be suitable enough to be used as immunogen in rabbits. The anti-species antibodies produced were successfully employed in sandwich indirect ELISA to detect antibodies against to Aeromona hydrophila in serum samples from A. baerii and A. gueldenstaedtii, both cultured in Uruguay.
