Hiking tourism has intensified in recent years in Brazil. Among several evidences of this process, the
creation, in 2018, of the Brazilian Network of Long Course Trails (RBT) stands out, which are
characterized by having more than 100km in length and by connecting Conservation Units. Given the
importance of these trails and this type of tourism for the country, this research carried out a
bibliographical review on the nature tourism segment and its niches. Based on this reference, it
collected through document analysis (websites and social media) and via the application of online
forms, data from the Long Course Trails of Rio Grande do Sul related to the niches of tourism in nature.
From this and through the crossing of the collected data, the classification of the Long Course Trails of
Rio Grande do Sul was classified in relation to the niches of the nature tourism segment.
