ABSTRACT
Electricity consumption in public education institutions compromises
an important part of the annual budget available
to finance expenses. These costs are even higher during the
period between October and February, where the average
temperatures are higher. The temperature increase in this
period is mainly related to the use of air conditioners. In this
context, intelligent solutions and devices capable of remotely
monitoring and controlling air conditioners can reduce energy
consumption and costs. Alternatively, the ARCO system is
proposed, it’s composed of an IoT device capable of monitoring
the air conditioners, turning on and off when they receive
a remote control. In addition to the designed hardware, the
system also includes an application interface (API) and a
web application.
