Women have always fought for their place in the Information Technology
area’s job market. This paper presents a survey conducted
with the male gender of different IT organizations from the south
of Brazil. The survey aims to identify their perceptions about gender
inequality, the valuing, treatment, opportunities, barriers and
discrimination, and/or prejudice women suffer in the workplace.
The results indicate that 45% of participants consider women in IT
companies most frequently face those social barriers, and only 19%
witnessed some prejudice and/or discrimination.
