ABSTRACT
Throughout history, we have been experiencing an
important struggle against gender inequality and
discrimination in various environments and areas of
knowledge, a struggle that still proves necessary today:
there are still numerous barriers in the academic and work
world regarding women's participation in science and
technology. This article presents an experiential account of
the Meninas High-Tech project, which operates within this
theme. The project emerges as a channel for reflection and
combat against gender inequalities and discriminations,
promoting actions to encourage and value women's
participation in the fields of science and technology.
Operating within the scope of IFRS - Campus Feliz and
schools in the region, the project, between the years 2020
and 2023, carried out different teaching, research, and
extension activities, with the latter two highlighted in this
article. It was noticeable, both during the workshops and
subsequently, in the analysis of the evaluation forms
applied, the positive impact of the actions taught, both in
combating gender stereotypes and in promoting a change in
female perspective regarding the field of informatics, with
the student participants considering it as a career possibility
after contact with the project.
