ABSTRACT
Throughout history, women have played significant roles in
human achievements. However, the current lack of female
representation in the field of computing remains apparent. In
response, the extension project Meninas Digitais Vale do Itajaí
provides workshops for girls in their final years of elementary and
high school, with the aim of inspiring them to pursue careers in
computing. This work details the conceptualization of a book
named “Girls Who Influence” which originated from a workshop
held with girls in 2019. It also covers the illustration, layout, and
launch process of this book. Moreover, it discusses how these
efforts contributed to an expanded project visibility with local
companies and, as a result, broadened the project's actions and
reach to a wider audience.
