ABSTRACT
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is an escalating public health issue globally,
with projections indicating an increase from 537 million adults affected
in 2021 to about 643 million by 2030. In this context, Brazil
stands out with 15.7 million cases. Based on these data, this article
introduces "Melldia", an Android application developed on
the Unity3D platform, designed to assist endocrinologists and patients
in managing DM. The solution proposes to (i) aid healthcare
professionals by facilitating decision-making and enhancing DM
management; (ii) integrate features for monitoring dietary surveys
and glycemic control through photographic records; and furthermore,
(iii) it offers a practical, offline solution suitable for users of
the Unified Health System (SUS) and the Amazonian Community
at large, aiming to promote a more detailed, individualized, and
effective approach to treating patients with diabetes.
