ABSTRACT
This work presents a system for remote monitoring of household
electrical devices. A sensor network based on Arduino attached
with power meters and actuators is proposed. The values collected
by the power meters are presented to the user in real time through
an App for smartphones. Moreover, the system will be able to turn
off electrical devices when a power overload is about to occur.
Theses features are aimed to avoid waste of energy and domestic
incidents caused by power overload or electrical failures. To analyze
the feasibility of the system, real tests were performed using an
App prototype and a cloud computing platform where the data
collected by the sensor network are analyzed and storaged.
