Resumo
This work was motivated by the need for women’s inclusion and
the desire for diversity in Computer Engineering. The project focused
on reference articles, surveys based on questionnaires, data
analysis, and periodic meetings with female students in the program.
The main goal of the project is to foster a more welcoming
environment for women in the field and to make the course more
appealing to those interested in joining, as well as to understand
and address some of the factors contributing to the underrepresentation
of women in this area. Additionally, the study highlights some
implemented actions and proposes future interventions to promote
diversity in this degree program. The actions already implemented,
such as support groups and an increase in the number of female
scholarship recipients, have shown positive results and emphasize
the importance of continuing efforts to promote diversity and inclusion.
The study concludes that, although progress has been made,
it remains urgent to intensify efforts to ensure the retention and
success of women in the field, fostering a more inclusive and diverse
environment.
