ABSTRACT
This paper proposes an indoor localization system for Visible Light Communication (VLC) systems, using LED lamps as light sources to determine the position of a receiver. The proposed method is based on the fingerprinting technique, which uses prior measurements of patterns in the environment and compares them with real-time measurements to determine the location of a receiver. Specifically, the proposal uses multiple light irradiation patterns, one for each lamp, to improve accuracy and reduce ambiguities in position determination. The preliminary results presented in this paper demonstrate the effectiveness of the method, while the proposed implementation reduces the computational complexity involved in the search process.
