ABSTRACT
Annually, about 17.9 million people in the world die from some
form of cardiovascular disease, and most of these deaths could be
prevented with a simple ECG (electrocardiogram) exam, followed by
an adequate medical treatment. The ECG is an exam that collects the
heart’s electrical impulses. These data can be visualized in graphs
that allow the identification of possible alterations or behaviors out
of the known parameters, that may cause harm to the patients. The
proposed systems enables medical team to collect ECG signals and
detect some anomaly in patients allocated in hospitals and home
care environments. The data collected are transmitted through a
Wi-Fi network to a server at the internet cloud, where they are
propperly storaged. This way, the medical team can visualize the
necessary parameters in real-time using an App designed to mobile
devices. Real experiments were performed, in a case study, showing
the feasibility of the proposed system.
