Resumo
The concept of accessibility has recently emerged as a prominent
topic of discourse within our society, particularly concerning digital
accessibility, which exerts a growing influence on our lives and the
operations of businesses. This article delves into the salient issues
associated with the creation of PDF technical documents pertinent
to automation products, with a focus on ensuring accessibility for
individuals afflicted with dyslexia, a specific learning disorder that
manifests as impaired reading. The study encompasses an examination
of the primary challenges encountered by these individuals
in comprehending and interpreting information, along with the
methodologies employed in the creation of accessible documents
and the prevailing standards that govern their development. To
illustrate the concepts discussed, a technical document on variable
frequency drives available on the market is analyzed. The accessibility
of a specific PDF technical document is evaluated based on
recommendations from the "Adobe Acrobat Pro"[2] and "Common
Look PDF Validador"[4] software.The document is modified to improve
accessibility, and the article concludes with an analysis of
the results of the modified PDF document and future perspectives.
