The COVID-19 pandemic required rapid adaptation from educational programs worldwide. In Santa Catarina, the Novos Talentos – SC Games Project, linked to the State Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation (SCTI), transitioned to a distance-learning model to ensure continued training in programming, design, and game art for children and adolescents. Through the reorganization of its pedagogical practices, the adoption of virtual platforms, and the use of gamified and inclusive remote strategies, the project-maintained student engagement and expanded access during social-distancing measures. The experience reveals key challenges – such as connectivity limitations and adaptation to new tools – while highlighting benefits including increased accessibility, development of digital skills, and broader reach. Overall, the SC Games adaptation illustrates the potential of remote modalities to support creative and inclusive technological education.
