This study evaluated the environmental integrity of rivers’ segments in Ipameri, Goiás, Brazil. For this, it was used a Rivers Rapid Assessment Protocols adapted from the protocol used in rocky meadows of Minas Gerais State highlands. The results point to a worrying situation, given the large number of sites classifed as “regular” and “poor”, observing that human activities are contributing to environmental degradation of rivers of the studied area. Thus, it is necessary that the municipal and state agencies/organs related to environment and water resources promote the adoption of measures that will halt the observed degradation processes, in order to ensure the preservation and sustainable use of natural resources.
