Abstract. Wireless networks have been showing exponential growth, in which we highlight the 802.11 (Wi-Fi) standard. In some commercial environments, the lack of design in the Wi-Fi network installation implies connection problems that result in customer frustration. In this work, we analyze several parameters of Wi-Fi networks using the site survey technique in commercial establishments, searching for fault points and applying a questionnaire about information about the network. With this, we intend to map the state of the Wi-Fi networks in commercial establishments and promote a series of strategic measures aiming at a better cost-benefit of these establishments.
