ABSTRACT
In recent years, technological advancements have markedly intensified
the collection, processing, and storage of personal data, making
it essential for current systems to conform to Brazil’s General Data
Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados — LGPD) to ensure
legal compliance and effectively safeguard user privacy. This paper
explores the practical application of Nielsen’s usability heuristics in
evaluating the Adequa 2.0 system, a tool developed to identify software
products’ non-compliance with the LGPD. Adequa 2.0 seeks
to automate the assessment process through a dynamic questionnaire
that fosters effective and intuitive user interaction. Usability
was measured using Nielsen’s 10 heuristics. Tests were carried out
with students in the technical Informatics program at the Federal
Center for Technological Education of Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG),
Leopoldina campus, who used the tool to evaluate their projects’
compliance with the LGPD. The findings underscore the importance
of uniting regulatory requirements with best practices in interface
design to ensure LGPD conformity without compromising user
experience.
