Given the low representation of women in IT (approximately 20% in Brazil) and the high dropout rates in courses such as Computer Science (CS), the goal of this research is to identify the factors that influence the dropout and retention rates of female students in Information Technology (IT) courses. The ultimate aim is to propose strategies to encourage permanence and broaden gender inclusion in the sector. The methodology is divided into seven stages: 1) an exploratory study of related works and incentive projects; 2) quantitative data analysis of enrollment, dropout, and retention for the CS course at IFSUL Campus Passo Fundo (via SUAP); 3) creation of two questionnaires (Google Forms); 4) submission of both questionnaires for ethics committee analysis and approval; 5) application of Form 1 to CS alumnae of IFSUL-PF; 6) application of Form 2 to active students (all genders) in IT courses in Passo Fundo; and 7) data triangulation to validate the conclusions. The expected outcome is the proposition of concrete institutional recommendations and strategies for reducing female dropout rates and promoting gender equity
