Abstract
This article examines the security and privacy requirements of the
ELLAS Open Data Platform, which aims to promote gender equality
in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in
Latin America. Through an overview of the literature on security requirements
engineering, we identify gaps in the platform’s original
requirements. We then propose new functional and non-functional
requirements to enhance data security and privacy. The analysis
highlights the importance of integrating security requirements into
the development of open data platforms, ensuring reliability and
secure access to information, especially in projects like ELLAS -
Equality in Leadership for Latin American STEM.
