    GOVERNANCE OF INTERORGANIZATIONAL NETWORKS AND LEVELS OF FORMAL CONTROL: KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES IN A THIRD SECTOR NETWORK

    The incorporation of knowledge management theories in the analysis of complex organizational structures stimulates the development of new approaches on governance of interorganizational networks. One of the challenges of networks governance is maintaining low levels of formal control in cooperative environments. Through the mapping of operating activities of knowledge management, the study of an interorganizational network with social purposes - the COEP-PR - the implications of the standards of interaction among the actors were observed, on the levels of formality of existing control mechanisms. The methodology for the analysis of social networks enabled the applicability of a formal methodological tool to be evaluated, in the description of complex socioorganizational phenomena.
