INCLUSION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITES; PUBLIC POLICIES AND PREJUDICE
Published date: 11/05/2017
The development of public policies has been seeking to open space, and give more rights and visibility to People with Disabilities (PwD). Considering the changes related to the expansion of the process of inclusion of PwD, this study analyzes the perception of leaders and their teams concerning the inclusion of PwD in a company in the agribusiness sector of Porto Alegre, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. This is an exploratory, qualitative research that uses a case study method. Through the use of qualitative interviews with a semi-structured script as a form of data collection, and the technique of content analysis, three main thematic units were discussed and analyzed: social inclusion, public policies and prejudice. The results show that the interviewees perceive the process of inclusion of PwD in the labor market as necessary, developing an organizational vision in order to ensure better working conditions for these individuals, or to offer new knowledge about the subject to areas of the company that do not have PwD, or to create more new vacancies for PwD. Finally, the limitations of the work are presented, along with some suggested areas for future research.
