This article deals with the campaign promises of the PT, PL, MDB and PDT expressed in government programs and presented to the Superior Electoral Court for the 2022 presidential elections. Through content analysis, we work with the codification of promises in two variables: 1) promises that could be verified if the proponent were to win the elections; and 2) rhetorical promises. The objective is to verify which type of promise predominated in the aforementioned candidacies; what are the thematic contents presented by the applications; and to what extent, differences in the ideological positioning of the parties guide the type of promise and the thematic content addressed in government programs.
