LEARNING-FOCUSED STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT: IN SEARCH OF PROMOTION OF HUMAN, ORGANIZATIONAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

    Published date: 31/07/2008
Faced with the need for organizations to integrate economic and human development, this text launches a theoretical discussion regarding strategic management, with the aim of interpreting the role of the manager in organizations geared towards the learning of workers. For this, a bibliographic review was carried out, covering theories related to education, learning, organizational management and managerial roles. Managerial practices are decisive in learning processes i.e. some inhibit these processes while others facilitate them. It is observed that the process-relation management style and the roles of facilitator, negotiator, innovator, servant, and above all, educator, are more in keeping with organizations whose culture and environment are geared towards learning, and which view learning as a form of promoting, at the same time, competitiveness and human values.
