    Published date: 16/10/2020
This research presents an analysis of the knowledge management process in the craft beer industry in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. Empirical data were collected through semi-structured interviews with professionals from craft beer production companies, such as master brewers and sommeliers. The research was complemented with the documentary survey and non-participant observation in loco. Empirical data were submitted to content analysis, in order to show how Knowledge Management occurs. As main results, the valorization of knowledge comes from the networks, from the relationships, with the use of the expertise of other professionals present in fairs of the segment or in technical trips, not only in the formal moments of these events, but also in the informality. In addition, there was a concern with people within the organization, as there is an understanding that the competence and experience of employees are differential for the success of the business, and their permanence in the companies is considered strategic.
