• Abstract

    Contrasts the urban landscape and tourist potential of Foz do Iguaçu: analysis of the Iguassu National Park and the Itaipu Hydroeletric Power Station

    This article presents the relationship between landscape and tourism and their classifications. The study of these concepts is essential to understand the landscape of Foz do Iguaçu, with natural and artificial attractions, respectively the Iguassu National Park and the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Station, besides the landscape formed by the borders with Argentina and Paraguay. The objective was of identifying which the attractions that present maximum hierarchy in the tourist compound of the municipal district. The methodology is characterized as a study of exploratory character, whose data collection privileged the document retrieval and bibliographical besides the observation in the place. As a result of the analysis, the potentiality of the landscape was verified as a key factor to be explored in the planning of the local tourist activity, but recommending the elaboration of new researches equally focused in the landscape as relevant tourist attraction for Iguaçu Falls. Turismo: Visão e Ação, linked to the Graduate Program in Tourism and Hospitality - Master's and Ph.D., is a scientific journal published in a continuous flow system, with an interdisciplinary and international scope. According to Qualis/CAPES criteria (2017-2020), it is classified as 'A3' in the fields of Administration, Accounting Sciences, and Tourism. Registered with ISSN number 1983-7151, Tourismo: Visão e Ação began its activities in 1998 with printed publications in English and Portuguese. In 2008, it transitioned to an online publication, expanding its reach to a broader audience. It maintains a policy of being an open-access journal without submission or access fees. The abbreviated title for the journal is Tur., Visão e Ação, commonly used in bibliographies, footnotes, references, and bibliographic captions.
