Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar los efectos de la valencia, el atractivo y la claridad de las reseñas en línea sobre el desempeño (financiero y no financiero) de los hoteles. Los datos fueron recolectados de fuentes primarias, a través de un cuestionario en hoteles brasileños, y de fuentes secundarias, a través de web scraping en la plataforma digital TripAdvisor. Se utilizaron redes neuronales de transformadores para el análisis textual multidimensional de 89.290 reseñas en línea y, posteriormente, se utilizó el modelado de ecuaciones estructurales (PLS-SEM) para investigar las relaciones del modelo empírico. Los resultados muestran que la valencia (sentimiento de las reseñas y calificación de reputación) y la claridad (detalle y comprensibilidad) de las reseñas en línea se asocian positivamente con el desempeño no financiero y que las reseñas en línea con atractivo emocional se asocian negativamente con el desempeño no financiero. También se encontró que el desempeño no financiero afecta positiva y significativamente el desempeño financiero de los hoteles.
