SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS IN THE NATIONAL EXAM OF TO HIGH SCHOOL

    Published date: 21/11/2019

The article aims to discuss how successful students in the National Exam of to High School (Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio) are constituted in social media of Facebook. The theoretical contributions used come from the Foucaultian matrix, mainly the concepts of governmentality, discourse and processes of objectification and subjectivation. The empirical material is composed of more than 100 posts collected between 2015 and 2018, from Facebook’pages directed to students who are preparing themselves to take the examination. The result showed that in the enunciations examined it is possible to perceive a strong incentive to participate in Exam. In addition, the candidates become entrepreneurs of their own performance in the tests, being specific ways to be a good student, which basically needs a lot of study and dedication. In this sense, it can be said that much more than serving as a form of entrance into Higher Education, the Exam serves as one of the mechanisms that constitute subjectivities aligned with the neoliberal rationality present in our society.
