For an ethic of care and sensitivity: building relationships within post-modernity

Individualism is one of the elements that creates diffi culties for the socialized life in the context of the post-modern world. There are ways of mitigating the discomfort caused by the legacy of post-modernity. Some authors, such as Leonardo Boff and Danis Bois, demonstrate that through care and sensitivity, it is possible to lessen the intensity of the distinctive signs of human behavior in today’s world. João Batista de La Salle and Paulo Freire show that in the school, it is possible to build ethical and esthetic relationships that contribute to the healthy development of human beings.
