    Published date: 25/06/2012
This paper investigates the ethical concepts of educational supervisors of some of Elementary School Public Schools in Santa Maria - RS. Ethical principles are increasingly present in the lives of individuals in contemporary society, therefore education policies for Basic Education in the country highlight the need to work with these principles as a cross-cutting theme. In this context, the educational supervisor is tasked with conduct mediation between the demands of public policy and pedagogical practices of teachers. However, it becomes a challenge to focus on ethics in schools, and to incorporate it into the teaching and learning that take place in each area of knowledge. Methodologically, this is characterized as a qualitative study, using the collection technique of semi-structured interviews and analysis of data based on the technique of content analysis. The results point to diffi culties in working with issues related to ethics teachers and students. It can be inferred that among the supervisors, the concept of ethics like respect for colleagues is prevalent, which indicates the prevalence of the use of concepts and methods focused on contextual ethics. Therefore, it is believed that ethics can be more and better explored and addressed in schools.
