CYBERLITERATURE: art or storehouse?
Published date: 23/03/2009
Abstract This study was carried out during the first semester of 2006, in the seventh period of the Pedagogy Program at the University of Vale do Itajaí, Piçarras Campus, SC. Its objective was to investigate the way in which students interact with the computer and with their colleagues, when analyzing literary sites available on the Internet. It prompted discussion on ways in which the Internet can assist teachers dealing with literature in the classroom, as an esthetic and pleasing object. It starts from the basic premise that visual poetry and literary hypertext can assist in the process of understanding literature as art, i.e. as an object which requires esthetic appreciation. It raises some issues relating to the fate of reading in today’s Internet era, and to the three dimensions of the textual space. the subject of the text, the addressee, and the extra-textual dimensions.
