TEACHING TRAINING LINKED TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS: giving (new) meaning to the pedagogical practice of teachers
Published date: 23/03/2009
The bases, the implementation history, and the results are presented, of an academic management that is intentionally focused on an attempt to link initial training with continuing education for teachers working in the public school/network. With the aim of inserting future educators in the concrete reality of the public teaching network, it seeks to transform the relations between the School and the Universidade Federal Fluminense – UFF in practices which provide better quality of teaching and management of public schools. The results of the jointly planned actions are: innovative teaching practices; increased interest and participation by schools; approval of the “Bolsa Licenciatura” (Scholarship program for teacher education courses in the Institutional Development Plan of the UFF; approval of the Base Comum (Common Core) for all the teacher education courses, by the Teaching and Research Council; the implementation of the Mostra de Iniciação à Docência and Seminários de Avaliação dos Projetos; and publication of two books. Motivated by the greater resignification of Pedagogical practice of students, the projects highlights how much the University and Schools still have to learn, even more than what they should teach.
