THE IDENTITY OF THE EDUCATOR FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF ANÍSIO TEIXEIRA AND PAULO FREIRE
Published date: 24/03/2009
This article discusses the identity of the educator from the perspective of Anísio Teixeira and Paulo Freire, taking into account their experiences in the field of education at different times in the political history of Brazil. This training model and its respective identity, studied by the two authors, only can be understood within the context of the transformation of knowledge and educational competences, which often hide political strategies of a teaching model which is flexible, globalized, dynamic and increasingly dependent on the technological process. By establishing the hegemony of information technology in formal teaching environments, this supposedly creative educator is bombarded with so much information that he ends up depoliticizing and becoming alienated from his own knowledge.
