School management and combating violence: a necessary dialog

This article is guided by a refl ection on the continuous worsening of violence in schools, and the actions and initiatives taken to combat this phenomenon. It addresses the importance of the educational manager as a key fi gure in the school context, given the greater autonomy and power of decision-making of this individual over his/her colleagues, which gives him/her a leading role in the mobilization of actions to confront, combat and prevent acts of violence in the school. This fact leads us to believe that this struggle cannot be adequately dealt with without the strong presence and action this professional.
