    ACCESSIBILITY AS A QUALITY CRITERA OF THE TOURISM SPACE: A CASE STUDY OF THE CEDNTRAL AREA OF BALNEÁRIO CAMBORIÚ-SC

    This presented study will focus its discussions on the accessibility of public spaces for touristic use of cities for handicapped and disabled people. The project aims to analyze the accessibility after the urban redevelopment of the central area of Balneario Camboriú/SC (important tourist destination in the Brazil coast), considering the necessary adjustments based on the laws and regulations for handicapped and disabled people. Therefore, it seeks to relate the concepts of urban touristic space and accessibility through a literature search, thus forming a theoretical and conceptual framework. Furthermore, a qualitative analysis of exploratory and descriptive nature will be held, seeking to map the accessibility of touristic space and equipment of that city area, highlighting the areas that were passed on the recent urban redevelopment. Later, it will be done the systematization and analysis of the collected data, correlating them with the theoretical and conceptual framework. The results indicates that the quality of the urban touristic space of the city, referring to the accessibility features, still does not presents in a complete and continuous way, not guaranteeing the autonomy and independence for handicapped person.

In 2008, it transitioned to an online publication, expanding its reach to a broader audience. It maintains a policy of being an open-access journal without submission or access fees. The abbreviated title for the journal is Tur., Visão e Ação, commonly used in bibliographies, footnotes, references, and bibliographic captions.
