A pesar del creciente reconocimiento de la importancia de la investigación sobre el comportamiento del consumidor en el ámbito del turismo, tanto por parte de los gestores, agentes turísticos y entidades gubernamentales, todavía persiste una brecha significativa en la comprensión de las motivaciones subyacentes de los turistas brasileños que emprenden viajes en medio de las profundas transformaciones causadas por la pandemia de COVID-19. Este estudio tiene como objetivo profundizar en el análisis de los factores impulsadores de los consumidores de turismo en Brasil, así como desarrollar, sintetizar y validar una perspectiva turística a través de un Inventario de Motivación Turística (EMT). El proceso investigativo incluyó una revisión léxica meticulosa de estudios anteriores accedidos a través de bases de datos nacionales e internacionales, con el fin de establecer una base sólida de motivaciones relacionadas con el turismo. El IMT se aplicó a una muestra de 974 consumidores de turismo, sometido a rigurosos procedimientos de validación, demostrando su integridad y confiabilidad con sus 15 variables distribuidas en tres factores distintos. La aplicación del EMT permite el análisis de los factores que impulsan el compromiso de los consumidores en actividades turísticas y la selección de destinos, lo que permite una investigación detallada de las discrepancias y la identificación de los estímulos más relevantes para el destino en cuestión.
