The evolution of social networks and digital media is accompanied by the change in beauty standards, targeting women who are pressured to achieve unattainable bodies. In this way, this research aimed to evaluate the life habits, consumption of digital media and its influence on the lives of adult women in Santa Catarina, Brazil. It had an observational, descriptive, cross seccional and quantitative character. Data collection took place through an online questionnaire sent through social networks, in the second half of 2022. Of the 162 evaluated, 85.4% felt influenced by digital media. The most used social networks were Instagram®, WhatsApp®, Facebook and TikTok®. The results show that women have already wanted to change their bodies after viewing photos and videos of standard bodies and that they are influenced in a positive or negative way, depending on what content is consumed and the way they are interpreted individually.
