Teamwork can provide learning, spaces for exchanging experiences and assist in problem
solving and decision making. It is, therefore, indispensable for those working with babies in a daycare
setting. The aim of this study was to identify the perception of teachers and School Development
Assistants (SDA) in relation to teamwork among school, family and health professionals, in the context
of daycare. Seven teachers and six SDAs took part in the research. Two semi-structured interview
scripts were used for the data collection, and the analysis was performed based on the premises of
Content Analysis. The results suggest that there is teamwork among the study subjects, but that it
lacks structure, due to the absence of formal spaces for discussion and reflection on the pedagogical
practice. The need for more research that investigates team work, whether in daycare centers or
other settings, and its consequences, is highlighted.
