    Iconographic Analysis: a research method for the History of Education

    This article presents the analysis of images as a methodological proposal for carrying out research in the fi eld of History of Education. The approach consists, fi rstly, of methodological delimitation within History, as this will be decisive for consolidating refl ections on the sources of imagery. In this sense, it presents the perspectives of Social History and Mentalities. In the analysis of images, the refl ection focuses on the thinking of Panofsky. Through these refl ections, the analysis of images is understood as a possibility of research in the area of History of Education.
