Governance Policy
Editorial Board
The Editorial Board is composed of a group of researchers from different national and international teaching and research institutions, with representation in the scientific community. It does not necessarily act collectively, and there is no provision for regular meetings with specific agendas, nor is there any formal link between the Board members and the legal entity responsible for publishing the journal.
The members are responsible for giving opinions on issues related to the improvement of Editorial Policies, appointing reviewers, promoting the journal, considering strategies for action and innovation in the academic and professional environment, and addressing ethical matters when required.
The Editorial Board does not interfere with the editorial process; however, it may be called upon by the editors for deliberations involving strategic and/or operational issues. It acts to ensure the scientific integrity, rigor, and reliability necessary to support the credibility of a scientific journal.
Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee is composed of members from the scientific community, representing the areas in which this journal has influence, and includes members from Brazil and abroad.
Its purpose is to foster the scientific rigor and reliability of the editorial process, which consequently ensures the credibility of publications. It must also be committed to ethics, to the criteria for indexing in renowned databases, and to seeking institutional and financial support for the maintenance of the journal.
Its members act individually and, when necessary, collectively, to reflect on editorial policies and procedures.
The Executive Editor chairs the Committee and may request individual or collective contributions through the convening of meetings.
They may also request meetings to address issues involving the structure and development of the journal. The Committee may suggest themes for special issues/dossiers.
The Scientific Committee does not interfere in the journal’s editorial process.
Executive Editor
The Executive Editor is responsible for the editing of the journal, in both technical and scientific terms, and is supported by a team (editorial assistants) for routine administrative matters related to the editorial process, which, in this journal, is carried out through an electronic system. This ensures that the process is impersonal and transparent, as provided by the Open Journal System (OJS) publishing platform.
The editor’s responsibilities include: (i) preliminary evaluation of manuscripts – desk review – including verification of compliance with submission guidelines by the author(s); (ii) forwarding manuscripts to reviewers; (iii) follow-up of revisions; and (iv) publication of approved manuscripts.
The Executive Editor coordinates the activities of the Scientific Committee and works in close collaboration with the Editorial Board in order to reflect on the strategic issues of this journal.
