Abstract

Contextualization:.  It is a study, under the legal scope, of the anthropology of complex societies, given that each country has its own cultural conceptions, diversifying to a greater or lesser extent.

Objective: This article analyzes the way in which the different cultural conceptions of States influence the international law-making process.

Methodology: In this study, we analyze the dialectical relationship between interests and culture, how these elements influence the formation of international law and, finally, how directly this relationship is affected by these elements, such as the level of democracy and transparency of the bodies responsible for the negotiation.

Results: There is an indirect relationship between culture and the positioning of states in the international arena, as several filters come into play that interfere with the causal link, such as the level of democracy, political and economic interests, the strength of dominant groups, among others.
